Chancellor’s Office

Prof. Dankit Nassiuma is the Chancellor – Moi University. He was appointed to this position in 2024. He has a wealth of experience in academic leadership and a strong commitment to advancing the university’s mission and vision.
Prof Nassiuma has held various leadership roles at various institutions, demonstrating a remarkable ability to foster innovation and collaboration. As Chancellor, Prof. Nassiuma will focus on enhancing student success, promoting faculty development, and strengthening the university’s ties with local and global communities.

Mandate

As provided by the University Act, the Chancellor—
(a) shall be the head of the University and shall, in the name of the University, confer degrees and grant diplomas, certificates and other awards of the University;
(b) may from time to time direct an inspection of the University or an inquiry into the teaching, research or any other work of the University;
may arrange for visitation to the University as may be provided in the Statutes;
(d) shall enjoy such powers and privileges and perform such other functions as may be provided in the Statutes;
(e) may from time to time give advice to the Council which he may consider necessary for the betterment of the University.
